Squash Casserole

2-3 lbs squashed sliced, salt and pepper, 1/2 cup butter, 1 cup sour cream, 1 can undiluted cream of chicken soup, 2 onions finely chopped, 1- 5 oz can water chestnuts, 1 -2 oz.pimientos drained, 1- 8 oz. herb seasoned stuffing mix,

Cook squash until tender. Drain, and save 1 and 1/2 cups liquid, salt and pepper and mash. Combine liquid and remanng ingredients except for 1/2 cup of the stuffing. Mix in squash and top with reserved stuffing. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Yields 16 servings.
